Identification - The act of identifying
an entity, i.e. giving it a set of characteristics by which it is
recognizable as a member of a group
International Accreditation Forum (IAF)
- The world association of Conformity Assessment Accreditation
Bodies and other bodies interested in conformity assessment in the fields
of management systems, products, services, personnel and other similar
programmes of conformity assessment. Its primary function is to develop a
single worldwide program of conformity assessment that reduces risk for
business and its customers by assuring them that accredited certificates

International Automotive Task Force (IATF)
The IATF is an “ad hoc” group formed to provide improved quality products
to automotive customers worldwide.
The IATF members are ANFIA, BMW,
DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Fiat Auto, FIEV, Ford Motor Company, General
Motors Corporation, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Renault, VDA, Volkswagen.
Additional members are AIAG and SMMT. Suppliers are represented through
their national organizations
International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) -
ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 148 countries, on
the basis of one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva,
Switzerland, that coordinates the system. Because "International
Organization for Standardization" would have different abbreviations in
different languages ("IOS" in English, "OIN" in French for Organisation
internationale de normalisation), it was decided at the outset to use
a word derived from the Greek isos, meaning "equal". Therefore, whatever
the country, whatever the language, the short form of the organization's
name is always ISO.

International Registry of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) - A UK
body within the Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) that administers a
registration scheme for auditors of management systems and for providers
of auditor training. IRCA registers first, second and third party
auditors. It is not the only auditor registration body in the UK, another
is the ASCB (E)

ISO 9000 - (1)
A family of international standards the purpose of which is to assist
organizations implement and operate effective quality management systems.
The key standards in the family are ISO 9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 9004. (2)
