What are the advantages of a process based system?

A process based system treats organization as a system of processes and thus unlike a functional approach, there are no silos or walls and barriers  to impede efficiency and effectiveness, in fact who does what is unimportant providing they are competent.

A process based system derives its objectives from the mission and thus delivers outputs that serve the mission rather than serving departmental objectives.

A process based system will identify and manage the interaction between processes rather then wrestle with the interaction between departments
